When women of color are on TV, they are relegated to plot lines about racism. So, when it comes to finding sisterhood in emotions outside of Feeling Oppressed, I do turn to “Fleabag,” even as I cringe at its titular character's outdated thinking.
It is a travesty that more women are not involved in the policy creation process as well. However, I believe that this gap can and should be addressed the same way it is being addressed in STEM fields — through working with young girls.
